Books

I finished Olive Kitteridge last night.  Wonderful, just wonderful.

I'm really picking up speed and enjoying The Red Scarf, too.  I emailed my book club friend because she was the one who chose it as our book for February, and I told her how much I was liking it.  She sent an email back to me, saying that she enjoyed it very much, too, but had been hesitant to suggest it to our club because there was a sex scene described near the end of the book.

Wait.....does that mean that this book will get EVEN BETTER??  Dang.  Now I want to skip ahead to the end.  But I'll stop myself.

Looks like my stitching hiatus will last a bit longer.

  1. I went to Goodreads to see what the books are about. Is "The Red Scarf" you're reading the one by Kate Furnivall? There were a couple others that came up.

  2. You're too funny, Lee...At the library we actually find that many of those "love" paperbacks have the pages dog-eared to mark the steamy passages... Guess that is all the readers really care about :)

  3. Sounds like you need a funner? more fun? book club. The best passages in a book are the ones where you look up involuntarily to make sure no one else is watching(reading)what you are.

  4. Thanks for the book recomendations, i went on Amazon and liked the sound of The Red Scarf and ordered it!

A bit more expensive than your average paperback from them though, is it a larger format i wonder.

  5. ROFLOL about the sex bit!! Too funny. I'll have to make a note of it! My daughter is a voracious reader and just finished Olive Kitteridge but didn't like it too much... gave it 3 stars out of 5 on Good Reads. I'm still going to give it a go, though.

  6. Okay, how weird is this... I've read The Red Scarf! It must be called something different on this side of the pond. I have to go back and look at this sex scene... I didn't recall it being too crazy... maybe I'm reading soft porn w/o realizing it... Hello, Bertrice Small...

  7. What, you are on a stitching hiatus? It's just the other way round here. I seem to be on a reading hiatus and stitch in every single free minute that I can discover. I wonder if I will ever be on a blog-looking hiatus, lol.
