Nine Inches

Hey - Get your minds out of the gutter!!  And get that dreamy expression off your face...

Sigh.  I haven't seen the sun in over a week now and we've had steady light snow for days.  Dave measured for the weather service this morning and believe it or not, we have nine inches of snow on the ground and more to come.  I sure miss the mild weather of 2012!

So anyway, what's a girl to do to keep her sanity in this world of grey, white and black?  Stitch something springy, of course!  I long for tulips, so this little BBD design was the perfect project for the weekend.

Loved it!  It's a design from A Stitcher's Journey (obviously), stitched on 28ct Antique Ivory Cashel linen, with the recommended GAST threads.  Now I'm waiting for some trim to arrive in the mail.  It'll be my first order from the Victorian Motto Sampler Shop, so how exciting is that??

Enjoy your week everyone!

  1. Sounds like your weather has been a duplicate of ours here in Illinois. We have another snowstorm in the forecast for tonight and tomorrow....*sigh.

I love your finish. That is such a pretty design! I think I need to take a look at the Victorian Motto Shop too... :)

Hopefully Spring will be along soon. I know I'm ready.

  3. Oh man! I know, I feel just like you. Here by us, I don't know how many inches are on the ground already, A LOT. The kids may have another snow day tomorrow. Another 10" for tomorrow. Yey! =(

  5. I too miss the mild winter of 2012. I am here in North Dakota. Snowed last night and has been snowing all day so far. The wind blowing hard too. Time for Spring now and seeing some other colors than mostly white. I too am stitching a "Spring" project. Love yours!

  6. You stitching is so pretty and definitely springy. That snow is pretty too but I imagine it gets old fast. Hang in there spring really is on it's way. CJ in OK

  10. Pretty finish!

We in Colorado envy your snow. We've been in the grips of a drought for years, and we can't seem to catch up. Too bad we can't assign weather where we need it. If I were queen ...

  11. Lovely stitching! We're snow covered like you are and another snow storm headed our way tonight and tomorrow.

I'll take rain instead of snow.

  12. We are way behind on our 'normal' winter rainfall here in Oregon and as we are a hydo-powered state, th lack of rainfall is really important. Your BBD piece is truly lovely.

  15. Looks like you guys are going to get blanketed with yet more snow tonight, Lee! Our forecast is 4-6 inches so, hopefully, it won't be too bad.

I really love your finish--boy do we need a few spring flowers right about now :)
