I've spent a couple of cozy evenings with LLL in my lap. My lap likes it.
Speaking of my lap - it seems to be growing.
No. Not "seems to be". It actually is.
I stopped exercising completely over the holidays and saying that I enjoyed all of last month's holiday food would be a gross understatement. I loooooooved it. I should have married it.
I hate this out of control feeling. I've done the Weight Watchers program twice in my life and had success both times. Then about a year ago I went again for the third time and for some reason, it just didn't click with me that time. And I continue to grow and expand width-wise.
If only the losing was as easy as the gaining. Somebody give me a kick in the pants.

Nice progress! I could do with exercising a bit more, I hate doing it, but I really need to. Perhaps when the weather gets better, we'll both get motivated to do more exercise.
ReplyDeleteI feel a bit like that with Slimming world. Its the only plan I have ever done and have had successes over the years but it seems like those successes take longer and longer to achieve. I think its my body slowing down and getting used to that way of eating. It's very frustrating though. Love your LLL. x
ReplyDeleteI love how your LLL is coming along. I hope you will share your floss conversion later on. You choose the best colours on these Quaker designs!
ReplyDeleteAs to exercise, yeah, I'm with you there. For me I'm "exercising" regularly only from the stretching perspective to keep my neck/back from crossing over that line into pain. I need to add some strength training!
let's see - how many calories does stitching burn in an hour? ;-)
Wouldn't your lap be shrinking? LOL. I'm not one for weight loss advice.
ReplyDeleteI too can relate about the extra weight thing. My daughter is getting married in June, so you think that would help me to get motivated, but no luck yet :^( Oh, and I had a good laugh when you said that you LOVED the holiday food that you should have MARRIED IT. That's one of my brother's favourite sayings when one of us says we love something and I laugh every time!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous stitching!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the weight loss struggle. It is such a hard thing to do.
Everyone always warned me about the "after 40 syndrome". I always shrugged it off until I hit 42. WHAMMO!! Did I get hit with lots of changes and it seemed to happen quite suddenly. I still exercise on my elliptical 4 to 5 times a week but my metabolism has jumped on the slow boat. I've lost massive amounts of weight a few times in my life and the hardest part is keeping it off.
ReplyDeleteDidn't mean to get on a rant there.
I LOVE your sampler!!
Great progress on LLL! I need to get to the gym but my motivation is severely lacking. But I feel like I've gotten to the thunder thigh stage and have to go. Lots of people have been talking about some changes WW made recently and they all seem to like it....
ReplyDeleteI love your progress on LLL. I love the fabric you are using. Oh the gym and eating well... what a challenge that is for all of us. It is always hard after the holidays. It is very hard for me to get motivated, so I hear you !
ReplyDeleteI think after seeing about The 17 Day Diet on The Doctors that it would be a pretty good program.
ReplyDeleteLLL is looking so pretty, love the colors
ReplyDeleteI have ups and downs with motivation all the time. Mine will kick in when it gets warmer and I can go walking again, I can't wait, lol
Beautiful progress. Are you stitching this in different colours to the chart?
ReplyDeleteHmmm I need to get motivated again as I've lost my mojo to exercise at the moment.
Oh, Live Laugh Love is getting to be beautiful! Way to go!
ReplyDeleteAs for exercise and weight loss - no hints, comments, or ideas. Maybe we should walk together -- oh, yeah, we live how far apart? lol
gorgeous! I love those colours and the fabric.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder...I need to get back to my LLL. I've "slimmed" down on my junk piles...no luck with the body! Let me know if you find out what works!
ReplyDeleteLooking good Lee! You won't have too much more to do before you're finished.
ReplyDeleteAs far as the "growing" thing, I am not a good one to ask for encouragement. My philosophy is your "girth" is the only thing you can take with you when called to pearlie gates...really...so my plan is take as much with me as possible.
happy stitching....
it's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYour lap likes this designs and this design seems to like you, as you made an enormous progress on it. What a great colour combo.
ReplyDeleteIf only exercising was as easy as eating!lol
ReplyDeleteLove the stitching, the colours look great..how much more to go?
Beautiful progress! That is such a gorgeous piece.
ReplyDeleteWW, exercising... ugh. I actually GAINED weight while doing WW. Seriously. I'm waiting for being a heifer to come back in fashion.
