So here are my questions. I'm deciding if I want to put my initials (Oh no - more over-one stitching!), and if I do, where to put them. There are two emptyish places that feel like they need something. First, under the "CE", and second above the heart in the bottom right corner. What do you all think? Either place or neither place and just a simple ELO in backstitch outside the border?

Now I just need more $$ for framing and more walls in my house.

Just looking gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteAbout the initials, I usually sign it with the date, but in this case I would have to say that I would sign it over the heart.
Whatever you decide, I'm sure it will look lovely!
I hear you about the $$$ framing. My storage box of finished pieces grows ever larger!
Do you want to stitch over 2 or over 1? I think you could fit over 2 initials under the Peace to balance the 2011, or over 1 by the heart. Either would work and look good on the piece.
ReplyDeleteI think either place will work. I'd probably choose over the heart...
ReplyDeleteEither place will work, my eye goes for the place over the heart.
ReplyDeleteVery lovely! I think your initials under the CE and I would add another heart above the heart that's already there to fill in that space. Good luck! :^)
ReplyDeleteI would initial it beside the 2011 to balance that part our... and put something very small above the heart like the little diamond that is in the motif above that little heart in the right corner... I love this piece... and your OVER 1 is just gorgeous! Great Job! I stitch a lot over one... and have stitched over one on 40 count... and love it! hang in there you will be so pleased when it is done!
ReplyDeleteI like below the CE as I think it then balances your 2011 stitched date!
ReplyDeleteMy opinion is under the 'CE'in Peace to balance out the year on the other side!
ReplyDeleteYour quaker is gorgeous!
Great progress Lee! I think your initials over the heart would look great!
ReplyDeleteUnder the CE then it's balanced with the date. And you might be able to do it over two--well, EO anyway. I did now know you were the Electric Light Orchestra!
ReplyDeleteI vote for under the CE also and perhaps adding a little something above the heart. Your stitching is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI like the initails over the heart.
ReplyDeleteI think I would like the initials over the heart since the design is not symetrical.
ReplyDeleteYou will have to call on Carol for the 1 over 1.... but I'm not sure if she does it on 40.
ReplyDeleteMy eye went right to the CE to look for initials. But that empty spot over the heart calls out for something.... anything to fill it.
Good luck weeding thru everyone's opinions!
Pam
I think under the Peace, but I'd also like to see something over that heart... it is an empty space. Lovely work!
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful! I like the idea of your initials over the heart but I'm sure whatever you decide will be wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI started to say over the heart - but after reading everyone elses suggestions - under the 'CE'. But, like the others something to balance out over the heart would be nice.
ReplyDeleteThis piece is gorgeous. I love single color pieces! And about not enough walls - I hear you!
I think either place would work well with the initials, but I think I'd do it across from the year to balance it out.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work, btw! I love that Weathered Barn.
Laughing at Pam's comment :) Over one on 40?? Oh, my... I think I would go blind! What count is that fabric, Lee? If you had brought it last week, I would have gladly done it for you :)
ReplyDeleteHmmm...I guess I vote for small initials above the heart. It's interesting how divided the group is!
Haven't done it yet since I quite forgot but putting mine over the heart, along with the rest of the family's initials. Have to do it over 1 so they will fit. I just think this empty space needs some stitching. Looks great!
ReplyDeleteI think under the CE would balance the date, but that space over the heart looks like it needs something as well.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I'm useless when it comes to initials, though. ;)
ReplyDeleteI saw above the heart, but the space under CE needs something too.
